I've suffered terribly!

I had suffered terribly since first falling ill twenty months ago, beginning with hospitalisation for a mystery illness where something in my brain seemed to misfire.

After reading a couple of women's stories, I had to add my own (in summary). I had suffered terribly since first falling ill twenty months ago, beginning with hospitalisation for mystery illness where something in my brain seemed to 'misfire.' I thought I was surely going to die, and after many tests showing nothing, depression was diagnosed and antidepressant started (still on them).

Since then, my general health went progressively downhill, with many symptoms including sore arm and foot arch tendons, electric shocks in hands and legs, a terrible dry burning sensation in head and sometimes elsewhere (including feet), increasingly clicky bones/joints, debilitating fatigue and generalised weakness, very low immune system and (just lately) hot flushes.

Also struggling with feelings of dread and fear of serious illnesses, increasing low self-esteem added to the burden (resulting from doctor after doctor telling me there was nothing wrong, and implying I had a purely mental illness).

Since beginning HRT one month ago, I have been relieved of some of these symptoms, but for months and months the terrible darkness of not knowing has plagued me and only when I read others' similar stories can I truly take heart and encourage others out there looking for answers to do the same.

Never give up, believe in yourself and your own integrity no matter who tries to belittle you, treat yourself very well (diet, etc) and hang in there. Seek support. You will get through this!!!
